Using troubleshooting utilities

Sometimes we need to resolve the hostname, IP address, ping or telnet a device from the Sectona PAM server. This is helpful to check the connectivity of the target device, resolving the respective host, or the IP address.

Where to find the troubleshooting utility?

  • Navigate to System in the navigation bar.

  • Go to System Status in the sidebar.

  • In the System Status field, click on the Tools tab.

Utility name

Expected results

Ping

Displays the ping status to the target device

Telnet

Displays the telnet status to the target device

Resolve Host Name

Resolves the hostname of the target device from IP address

Resolve IP Address

Resolves the IP address of the target device from hostname
