Configuring Notifications

Email Notifications are a fast and efficient way to communicate with clients. It considerably enhances your customer experience and allows the organization to keep up with the latest system updates. They are machine-to-human communication that can be important, up-to-date, and time-sensitive. It can be an alert in the form of a notification email.

Sectona Notification Service allows you to send notifications via PAM. It also includes an auto-generated notification that is created by the system. Having a pre-defined and out-of-the-box feature of notification templates for multiple system changes is also one of its significance.

Sectona Notification Service sends notifications when a significant event occurs. For example, if an organization wants an alert 10 days before its license expires, the PAM generates an email to notify that the license will expire in the next 10 days. Thus, notifications provide a convenient way to keep track of your system and its changes without physically checking the activities on the console.

Sectona Notification Service keeps track of various events that happen under groups like Access Control, Accounts, Assets, Audit, High Availability, Instances, License, Policy, Proxy and Landing, Servers, Reporting, Satellite Vault, Security, Session Activity, System, Users, Vault and Workflow and gives appropriate notifications on the same.

It also allows customizing email templates per the organization's requirements without involving any code-language-specific knowledge.

Sectona Notification Service has the following security benefits:

  • Notification engine provides an alert when a backup is configured and initiated. An email to complete backup restore is also sent via Sectona Notification Service.
  • In case of a 'Login failed' notification, the notification engine sends an email notification to the respective user whose login has failed in addition to the email configured in the notification rule.
  • Addition or modifications made in password or rotation policy is also notified through the email configured in the respective notification policy.
