Configuring location tagging
Locating tagging enables you to add location tags to the assets into the system. Use tags to identify the assets based on your location classification to help you better organize your rule-base. If you enable location tagging, you can tag each discovered or provisioned asset with location tags.
In an IT environment, assets are spread across multiple locations and data centers. You may want to provide access to branch users only with XYZ branch location assets.
Attribute-based account groups can be added with location sets as the attributes. Location tags can be utilized for multiple purposes. Refer below to learn how to add a new location or editing an existing location tag:
Steps for adding a new location
To define a new location in the PAM solution, follow the given steps:
Login to Sectona PAM as an administrator.
Navigate to the Configuration page.
Click on Locations in the sidebar.
Click the +Add Location button. This opens up a form to the right of the page to add a location. Provide a unique location name.
Click on Save and to define the new location.
The location name can be an alphanumeric string with minimum 2 and maximum 255 characters.
Editing an existing location tag
If you want to change your location name, you can edit the already defined location as follows.
Login to Sectona PAM as an administrator.
Go to the Configuration page.
Click on Locations in the sidebar.
Click on the location you wish to edit.
Edit the location tag and click on Update to re-define the location.
Location tags can be assigned to any asset in your IT infrastructure. For more information, refer to asset management and asset discovery.
